Every day, the number of Ethereum NFTs that are sold goes up by 690 percent.
On Sunday, the volume of CryptoDickbutts increased so much that it passed a few other notable NFT collections.
At the time of writing, the daily trade volume for Ethereum-based NFTs on OpenSea has increased by 690 percent to 290 ETH, which is about $495k. This has moved Dickbutts to the No. 6 spot for the day, ahead of well-known projects like Goblintown, Cool Cats, and Art Blocks. Over the past week, the volume has gone up by 135%.
The Dickbutts were made by comic book artist K.C. Green in 2006. For years, they were used in memes on Reddit and other social media sites, making them a familiar part of internet culture. In March of 2021, a collection of 161 NFTs on Ethereum came out. This collection was later called the OG collection, and in August of last year, Series 3 came out with 5,200 NFTs.
At the time of writing, the least expensive CryptoDickbutt from Series 3 costs 3 ETH, which is just over $5,100. This is a 31 percent increase over the last 24 hours. The price of a Dickbutts floor has gone up 163% in the last month, reaching an all-time high.
Based on the floor price, NFT Pricing Floor says that it is still the 34th cheapest NFT project. CryptoDickbutts’s continued growth, on the other hand, is a sign of the community’s passion and the continued demand for its services, which is partly driven by meme culture. Some NFT projects lose interest just as quickly as they gain it, but CryptoDickbutts has shown that it can handle this. The project doesn’t have a clear plan, and the CryptoDickbutt DAO, which includes Steve Aoki, Blondish, and ProbCause, is in charge of it.
Meltem Demirors, the Chief Strategy Officer of CoinShares and a well-known Bitcoiner with a quarter-million followers, may have caused today’s price increase by waving the Bitcoin flag. Demirors held a “emergency” Twitter Space on Sunday to talk about “the prophecy and the epic explosion.”
Demirors announced in the Twitter Spaces, “The Dickbutt community has always been about one thing and one thing only: the universal fact that one D equals one B… I also believe that remarking on pricing destroys the purpose of this passage. They have nothing to do with investment. Dickbutts are a culture.”
