CrowdFunding.com Sells For “About” $170,000

Posted on the 04 June 2013 by Worldwide @thedomains

According to AllThingsD.com the domain name CrowdFunding.com has been sold for “about”  $170,000.

The buyer of the domain name is GoFundMe.com which bought the domain but doesn’t plan on changing the name of its site.

According to the article on AllThingsD.com, GoFundMe.com has raised $75 million dollars for personal fundraising campaigns.

If your wondering GoFundMe.com also owns the domain GoFund.Me

Also GoFundMe.com already appears on the first page of Google organically for a search for the term CrowdFunding

As of the time of publication the whois has not updated for the domain which is still showing a Mathew Walker of Cleveland as the owner of the domain, but the site on  CrowdFunding has a big banner on top now saying GoFundMe presents, Crowdfunding.

The domain name which has a creation date of 2006 appears to have been purchased by Mr. Walker sometime in 2009.

CrowdFunding is a category killer and we think a great buy at $170K although Estibot.com appraises the domain for a ridiculously low $5,300.

At $170,000 the domain name would rank as the 8th highest sale in 2013 based on the year to date sales chart maintained by DNJournal.com

Congrats to the buyer and seller.
