Via Yahoo: Lisbon (AFP) – Footballing legend Cristiano Ronaldo said Tuesday he is opening a museum dedicated to himself on the Portuguese island where he was born.
The 28-year-old Real Madrid player will use the museum to showcase memorabilia from his hugely successful career, which began in the 1990s on the island of Madeira.
Ronaldo said he would be there in person on December 15 for the opening of the museum in Madeira’s capital Funchal, which will showcase memorabilia including footballs, photographs and trophies.
Look, sometimes you just take things to another level. Sometimes people consider you the best footballer in the world and you decide it’s time to open up a museum dedicated to yourself. This apparently was that time for Ronaldo. How can you hate on something this BAWSE? I mean if I was worth a gaggillion dollars, was one of the more popular athletes in the world and could pretty much do whatever I wanted, I’d probably do the same thing. I’d head home and put up a museum in my home town just to remind everyone there how awesome I was. Anyone who had an issue with it I’d just make go away because it’d be apparent I could do whatever I wanted.
