Harry Brook revealed he has taken the decision to outsource the management of his social media profiles in order to avoid any unnecessary distractions from his displays on the field. Brook says he hasn’t “really seen any negativity” and that the decision has helped his mental health. England play their second ODI against the West Indies on Wednesday in Antigua.

England’s Harry Brook says his mental health has improved since deleting social media apps from his phone.

The 24-year-old batter has made an impressive start to life as an international cricketer with England, starring in Tests against Australia, New Zealand and Pakistan, and being part of the victorious T20 World Cup side last year.

“I’ve been off social media for a while now, anything I stumble across, I delete it from the phone,” said Brook. “I haven’t really seen any negativity, I think that’s helped my game, helped my mental health and everything to be off social media and seeing all the negativity that brings.” Brook has outsourced the management of his social media profiles as he focuses on the current ODI series against the West Indies.
