Creating Change

By Sandwichedboomers @SandwichBoomers

cloud-transformation-changesMaking a change is never easy, but today people on both sides of the political divide are working to accomplish just that – for some it is a change from the past eight years while for others it is a pro-active change from what they believe is to come over the next four years.

And what about you? What changes do you want to make in your personal life? Focus on what you can control and what you can accomplish, not what you can’t. In the heat of the moment, enthusiasm about making a change can be great. But what happens the next day? You know that inspiration is not enough – use these 8 tips to implement your decision.

Strengthening your relationships with friends and family may provide the core grounding you’re looking for in these tumultuous times. Divisive conflicts and discord can be corrosive, highlighting the need for close connections and challenging us to make changes in the way we relate to one another.

And click on the link if you want to learn how making 4 small changes – like helping someone cross the street, saying a heartfelt ‘thanks’ to a loved one, smiling once each day and nibbling on a bit of chocolate – can increase your well-being as you improve the lives of others.

What about family members you want to support in their change behavior? If it’s your Millennial Boomerang Kids whom you are encouraging through the process of moving out on their own, here are 4 suggestions for fostering their actions as they brainstorm, prioritize, take a step and revise their Plan B.

You can build on your decision to make a change by shifting your routine, following through and transforming yourself. For now, it’s important for you to hang in there and draw on your strength and adaptability. Be proud of how you are rising to the challenges. Recognize your strengths, assets, resources and the foundation that will carry you through this period of transition.

Remember, even if you can’t influence the circumstances, you can control how you personally handle them. Search for solutions by clearly defining your goals and aspirations. Letting go of negative thoughts and unrealistic expectations frees you up to make something positive come out of a negative situation.

Be the change you wish to see in the world.
