The moment I walked into the gorgeous studio/showroom of design duo Megan Sommerville and Matt Ensner in upstate New York I knew I was in for a treat. Not only did I get to meet one of the most talented couples I've ever met, but also was dazzled by the beautiful craftsmanship in their furniture and lighting collection. Founders of Materia Designs, the couple moved to the Hudson Valley a few years back to start their business where they bought an old bungalow in need of loads of TLC. With their creative spirits in overdrive, Megan and Matt didn't think twice to roll up their sleeves and emerged themselves into a challenging renovation. Luckily for us, they have opened the doors of 'The Cape' (as they like call it their nest) to showcase the stunning transformation and the results of their hard work. I recently chatted with Megan about their project of love and some of the ins and outs of the design process. Here is what she said:
