Craigmillar Castle: A Photo Set

By Contemplatingtheclouds @contempclouds

As one of its information plaques stated Craigmillar Castle, on the outskirts of Edinburgh, was just far enough out of the city (approx. 2 miles from the city centre) to make it useful for  doing things you don’t want others to see – be it business or pleasure.Craigmillar Castle, Mixing business and pleasure, EdinburghCraigmillar Castle, Mixing business and pleasure, Edinburgh

Now, I should point out that this was the case when the castle was in a fully functional state; today however, the Castle is property of Historic Scotland (not particularly known for such hijinx, depravity and skulduggery). My visit was actually back in November during the open door weekend – when I also went to see Edinburgh Castle – but now it is time to share the photos*. If you would like more information on Craigmillar Castle then have a look at its website.

PS. I apologise for the brevity and sheer lack of information in this post, but the rugby’s on. Sorry.

*This sentence is completely interchangeable with ‘I had actually totally forgotten I had these, but luckily found them for today because I spent the entire weekend watching the Six Nations and so had nothing else to share’.
