I bet this happens to everyone, you buy a nice pair of earrings and one day, when your dancing or in a hurry, you lose one. Well here’s a solution I have, to make the cherished loner into a ring.

A friend of mine did this a couple of years back with a lonely gold earring. She actually went to the jewellers supplied a gold ring and the lonely gold earring and he stuck them together, it looks awesome and cost her 20 bucks! Mine, is more of a costume jewelry solution, obviously, but still a wonderful idea if you want to keep on wearing something beautiful.

For the task I used a clip on earring and kept the back on, but it’s definitely possible to do the same thing with a stud, you just need to cut off the back.

The how to – DIY ring

 1. You will need: Jewellery or metal glue, a lonesome earring and a ring, (now they’ll be together until death does them part.)

2. Depending on the back of the earring prepare the surface to later attach the ring. I had to keep the clip-on post because the earring was very deep-set.

4. Squeeze together the earring and the ring for 1 minute and leave to dry for 24 hours.

And voilà! A recycled earring has a new life and an opportunity to shine again!
