(Paris) The pandemic of the new coronavirus has caused at least 560 425 dead in the world since the office of the WHO in China has reported the appearance of the disease in late December, according to a report established by AFP from official sources Saturday at 7 a.m.

More than 12 522 050 cases of infection were officially diagnosed in 196 countries and territories since the beginning of epidemic, of which at least 6 688 300 are today considered cured.
This number of diagnosed cases, however, only reflects a fraction of the actual number of infections. Some countries only test severe cases, others use testing as a priority for tracing, and many poor countries have only limited screening capacity.
The United States, which recorded its first coronavirus-related death in early February, is the country most affected in terms of number of deaths and cases, with 133 83 death for 3 184 722 case. At least 983 185 people have been declared cured.
After the United States, the most affected countries are Brazil with 70 398 dead for 1 800 827 case, the United Kingdom with 44 650 dead (288 133 case), Italy with 19 938 dead (242 639 case), and Mexico with 34 191 dead (896 174 case).
China (excluding the territories of Hong Kong and Macao) has officially counted a total of 83 587 cases (2 new between Friday and Saturday), including 4634 death and 70 623 healings.
Europe totaled Saturday at 7 a.m. 201 976 death for 2 812 444 case, the United States and Canada 140 890 death (3 291 743 case), Latin America and the Caribbean 136 829 death (3 257 244 case), Asia 42 097 death (1 693 529 case), the Middle East 12 744 death (896 302 case), Af risk 11 746 death (559 664 case), and Oceania 136 death (07 104 case).
This assessment was carried out using data collected by AFP offices from the competent national authorities and information from the World Health Organization (WHO).
