This announcement comes at a time when the public health agency France has noted a “new trend in the increase in the circulation of the SARS-CoV-2 virus” in mainland France and that the authorities called on Friday for “the vigilance ”when faced with the risk of a second wave of the epidemic.

The number of patients suffering from a severe form in intensive care continues to drop, falling below the bar of 500, to 496 (-16 in 24 hours), specifies the DGS in a press release. In total, 7062 people are hospitalized for COVID infection – 19, with 136 new admissions recorded in 24 hours.

Four regions welcome 70% of patients hospitalized in intensive care: Ile-de-France (which includes Paris), Grand-Est, Hauts-de-France (north) and Guyana (French territory in South America).
