Coveted Classics: Orange Accents

By Covetedclassics @covetedclassics

I had an orange belt once and I thought that it was the most sartorial accessory to have ever graced my wardrobe. I figured, "how many people can really pull off orange anyway?" and yet I had managed to find a way with a simple belt. (Truth is lots of people can pull it off. I just needed a belt to show me how).  With it, I could transform my usual weekend warrior look of a simple white button-down shirt and jeans, into something with a little more personal style. It upped the ante on my basics in the most simplest of ways.

That orange belt has since long gone - mostly due to overwear - and I find myself searching for other ways to add an uplifting accessory to my mostly casual style. While another orange belt may be the easy answer, I think that there are other ways to incorporate this vibrant accent color into your wardrobe. Here are some examples below:

Coveted Classics: Orange Accents

Tipped boy shirt by J.Crew | Cotton-macrame pencil skirt by Dolce & Gabbana | Elysee blazer by alice + olivia | Saffiano belt by Lauren Ralph Lauren | Women's cloud logo sneaker by Sperry | Logo printed scarf by Valentino Vintage | Lanyard hitch cord bracelet by Kiel James Patrick for Brooks Brothers | Orange zip top leather pouch Comme des Garcons | Striped lurex cardigan by Markus Lupfer |

By no means do I suggest that you purchase a number of orange items to fill your closet, unless, of course, you are an orange loving enthusiast, in which case, I say do whatever your little orange loving heart desires. But, if you have a closet of mostly neutrals - white, navy, gray - like I do, then purchasing one orange piece as an accent is a good way to add some character to your sartorial style.
