Posted on the 02 July 2019 by Naijaparry

A Federal High Court Sitting in Lagos on Tuesday granted an application filed by former governor of Ekiti state
Ayodele Fayose seeking permission to travel out of Nigeria.

Naijaparry learned that Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke granted the application after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) re-arraigned Fayose before him over allegations of laundering N6.9billion.

Justice Aneke, who ordered the immediate release of Fayose’s international passport, took over the case from Justice Mojisola Olatoregun after the anti-graft body accused her of bias.

Fayose was arraigned on 22 October, 2018, before Justice Olatotegun, alongside a company Spotless Investment Ltd, on 11 counts bordering on fraud and money laundering offences.

The ex-governor pleaded not guilty to the charges and was granted bail on 24 October, 2018, in the sum of N50 million with sureties in like sum.
