Court rejects former IGP’s request to amend dock statement

The Colombo Special High Court Trial-at-Bar on Friday (24) rejected the request by former Inspector General (IGP) of Police Pujith Jayasundara to add new facts to his dock statement.

The request was made in the case filed against him over alleged criminal negligence for failing to prevent the Easter Sunday attack despite prior intelligence warnings.

The order was delivered by a three-judge bench headed by justice Priyantha Liyanage.

Attorney-at-law Roshan Dehiwala, appearing for Pujith Jayasundara, informed court that his client had unintentionally left out two matters in his dock statement and requested permission to present them to the court. (NewsWire)
