Latest figures show that 70 per cent of people will be doing at least half of their Christmas shopping online this year, with 61 per cent using a tablet or mobile device.
A new study, commissioned by BIC®, looked at UK shopping habits in the run up to the festive season and found that this Christmas, books will be the most popular item ordered online, followed by clothes and music.

Of those surveyed, 42 per cent said they had made a mistake when shopping online, with 15 per cent ordering more than they meant to and one in 10 not ordering enough. A third of people believed the error was made by the retailer or delivery company with only 10 per cent blaming themselves for the slip-up.
Jonathan Skyrme, General Manager at BIC® UK & ROI, said: "It's not surprising that so many of us are using mobile devices to fit shopping in and around our busy lives. So much is now available, literally, at our fingertips but although technology is advancing, there's always the risk of user error which has caught out a number of those people we surveyed.
"More than half (57%) of those questioned said they would consider using a stylus to solve the problem with two thirds believing it would help them be more accurate online."
