Plot: When a nurse downloads an app that claims to predict the moment a person will die, it tells her she only has three days to live. With the clock ticking and a figure haunting her, she must find a way to save her life before time runs out.

Story: Countdown starts when a group of friends download a new app that tells them when they will die. One of the friends gets 3 hours and makes a sensible decision when it comes to getting home, only to be warned they broke the user agreement.
When nurse Quinn (Lail) learns about the app, she downloads it and learns she only has less than a day to live. After Quinn tries to delete the app, she gets a warning about breaking terms and conditions. Quinn teams up with Matt Monroe (Calloway) who has also been suffering the consequences of the app. The two look to solve the mystery of what is causing it before their time runs out.
Verdict on Countdown
Countdown is a horror thriller that uses a mix of ‘The Ring’ and ‘Final Destination’. It uses the idea that death is counting down and your time is short. The problem can come from a medical professional that is believing the unexplained is happening to her.
When it comes to scares, they are built up well, but they are predictable and give away when the jump scares are coming. It would have been nice to see more from the other friends from the opening party, as they kicked it off between the main group. Even if the more sinister approach was taken, with the evil deliberating making short dates to get more kills.
This does end up being quite a fun little horror, getting good scares and clever idea that mixes modern technology with an ancient concept.
