Since the iPhone 7 was released, almost all phone manufacturers have removed headphone jacks from their high-end phones. Samsung was a notable holdover for a while, but even Port 10 was removed from the Note 10 last year.

It's easy to see why the entire industry did what it did. By removing the headphone jack from their flagship phones, manufacturers were able to simplify the case that a pair of bluetooth headphones was something you absolutely had to buy.

Another change could be on the horizon. Sony's upcoming Xperia 5 II leaked recently, with a headphone jack that the predecessor was missing one. We also saw compelling midrange drivers like the Pixel 4a, including the venerable headphone jack.

Let's say the Xperia 5 II marks a turning point and Android high-end phones with headphone jacks are becoming more common. Would you buy one of these devices? If you took it a step further, would you actually use your new phone's headphone jack a lot?

It's probably safe to say that despite all of the complaints we've had, when phone companies started removing the headphone jack, most of us like things the way they are with bluetooth headphones.

While commuting to the office, I fell in love with my Sony WH-1000XM3 noise-canceling headphones. They made it easy to get on the bus or subway and enjoy a podcast or book non-stop. The fact that there was no cord connected to my phone made it a huge bonus when I got to my destination and it was time to move. When it comes to my phone at least, I can't see myself going back to wired headphones again. But that's just me
