Cosmopolitan Cocktail

This rosy-pink cocktail has a bittersweet flavor that will quench any thirst.

The Cosmopolitan is a timeless classic cocktail of vodka, triple sec, cranberry juice, and freshly squeezed lime juice. A perfect drink for a party.

Ingredients

• 2 measures vodka
• 1 measure triple sec
• 1 measure fresh lime juice
• 1 measure cranberry juice
• ice
• orange peel twist, to decorate

Directions

1. Shake all the liquid ingredients over ice in a cocktail shaker until well frosted.
2. Strain into a chilled martini glass.
3. Take a piece of orange peel and hold it between a finger and thumb over the glass, and use a match to gently warm it for about 20 seconds. Bend the outer edge of the peel towards the flame so that the orange oils are released, then drop the peel into your drink.

The legendary Cosmopolitan reached its height of popularity during the 1990s when it was frequently mentioned on the television show “Sex and the City”.

Recipe Tips

• When selecting the vodka, opt for something mid to high range.
• If you find your cocktail to be a bit tart, you can use sweetened cranberry juice (“cranberry juice cocktail”).
• When you peel the orange, peel it over the drink so that any oils that spray out from the orange, fall into the drink.
