1. They're going through a significant change/transition: It can be anything from a new job, a new location, a stressful rough patch, all the way to big emotional events such as a death, getting engaged, etc. Big events or changes tend to bring out unstable, emotional feelings that some women don't know how to deal with. The discomfort triggers impulsive, negative decisions.
2. Feeling insecure in the relationship. Some women look at it as a way to gain back long lost control.
3. They don't feel like they're getting enough attention.
4. They are unhappy in their sex life.
5. There is not enough love, romance, passion, excitement.
6. They've been cheated on before. Unfortunately, sometimes the saying is true "if you can't trust, you can't be trusted."
7. There's no fun anymore: you don't laugh, you don't enjoy doing being with your significant other, and stress becomes a strong part of your day to day life. Stress has also being scientifically proven to lower libido.
8. You resent them for an underlying reason: something you gave up for them, something they haven't done for you, etc.
9. Because absence does not make the heart grow fonder...
