I was out for my evening walks with my camera, looking for interesting creatures to shoot at Pasir Ris Park. Little did I know I would bump into a Monkey God, Power Rangers, and loads more that would propel me into a world of mystical – and comical – creatures.

Downtown East was hosting its 12th cosplay convention (yes, cosplay’s a serious business with regular summits and meetings), and I simply went shutter-happy. I wasn’t sure which characters most of them were playing, but I had the utmost respect for the players’ effort and dedication to bring their favorite characters to life. Sometimes, being in costume makes you feel safe & mighty, that you can do wonders and accomplish things you never could in the real world. It may not a bad thing to dream in this crazy world we live in. Besides, what’s really normal nowadays?
