Accidents are unfortunate and
sometimes the path to recovery drain
people of their wealth ~ sad to read – also appreciations are due to the wife
who is taking special care. Life turned
turtle on that fateful day for the champion driver.
Michael Schumacher was holidaying with family and
friends in Meribel, France when the accident happened in December 2013. Schumacher, a very competent skier, was
holidaying in France, where he owns a
chalet. He was skiing with his
14-year-old son on a red piste, which is classed for intermediate skiers. But
shortly after 11am, he left the piste and skied on to an off-piste area located
in between the red run and a blue run, for beginners to intermediates. It was here that he struck a
partially-covered rock. He was not skiing fast but he lost control and
catapulted 34 feet on to another rock. He smashed his head on the bolder. The
force of the collision shattered his helmet. The footage recorded on a camera
attached to his helmet was undamaged.
He underwent brain surgery at a
Grenoble clinic in France and was then put in a medically induced coma. In
April, his health condition improved. Schumacher’s manager Sabine Kehm said at
the time that the athlete began to stay conscious for longer periods of time,
he could hear voices and react to touch.
254 days since smashing his head on to rocks in a freak ski accident in
the Swiss Alp, he made it home making his wife Corinna, 45, and children Mick,
15, and Gina-Maria, 17, ecstatic. More
than the medicine and treatment, it was
faith and optimism too
....... Corrina has steadfastly
stood by Schumacher and is quoted to be
happy at the progress he has made so far and optimistic that much more
can be achieved.
In between there were reports of
his medical records being leaked and a man described as manager at Swiss
helicopter company Rega was arrested for violating patient privacy and medical
secrecy and shortly that man was found hanging in police cell. The 45-year-old German was taken by ambulance
but Rega was also contacted when helicopter transport was being considered.
The inquiry Prosecutor closed the case stating
that any criminal wrongdoing had been ruled out. He cleared the ski resort,
stating that the piste had been marked correctly and that Schumacher 'deliberately'
left the ski run.
Prayers can move mountains; the
woman Corinna Schumacher wife of Michael
Schumacher, hailed a heroine after she
was pictured smiling and joking during her first public appearance since her
husband's catastrophic ski accident. Corinna has spent months by the bedside of
her husband Michael, as he was kept in a medically induced coma.
Last year came the reports that
Corinna Schumacher had decided to sell the private jet once regularly used by
them. Now comes the news of Michael Schumacher
selling Norwegian mountain holiday home
for £2million as he continues to recover from his horrific ski injuries. The sale of the retreat, in Trysil, north of
Oslo, comes after it was revealed last year that his family was planning to
build a £10million 'hospital' room for the Formula One star at their home in
Switzerland. The 46-year-old had owned the 6,940 sq ft lodge since the 1990s
and used it as a base for family skiing trips.
The home, which features a spa, a cabin on nearby ski slopes and space
for seven cars, has been sold to a foreign buyer for 22 million Norwegian
kroner.
A few months back, a young boy
who idolises Michael Schumacher was stunned when he got a letter from about the
racing great's wife. Corinna Schumacher wrote to Aiden Gormley, nine, about how
stricken Michael is a "fighter," who will "never give up"
as he recovers from devastating ski crash injuries.
Hope that Schumacher recovers
well
