I couldn't agree more with that statement. The media is supposed to search out and report the truth, because a democracy cannot exist unless it has an educated citizenry that knows the facts. Unfortunately, most of our modern media are owned and controlled by a few giant corporations. That means we only hear what the corporate moguls want us to hear. Far too often, we only get propaganda passed on by the media, because real hard-hitting journalism is either too hard or not permitted.
The only really free media that exists now is the internet. But enjoy that while you can, because the corporations are trying very hard to control that too (and the corporate-owned government will probably eventually allow them to do it).
