The country’s health department as well as other important departments and ministries are making efforts day and night to deal with the threat of corona virus. It is being speculated that if the situation worsens, the army’s help can also be taken to deal with this threat.
Amidst this discussion, on Wednesday, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh held a meeting with the top officials of the Defense Department and took stock of the preparations for the fight against Corona. He said that the speed of preparations against Corona should be doubled and for this, all departments should work in coordination.
He also urged to work in coordination with other departments of the government. The meeting was also attended by Chief of Defense Staff General Bipin Rawat, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Karambir Singh, Chief of Army Staff General MM Narwane and Chief of Air Staff Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria.
Rajnath Singh said that the threat of Corona is big but we will win this battle. This requires everyone to work together. He asked them to double their efforts at this critical time and keep sanitizers, face masks and other essentials ready in sufficient quantities.
General Bipin Rawat told the Defense Minister that a separate hospital could be used if needed to deal with the corona virus and identified hospitals that could only be used to treat corona patients.
So far, nine thousand beds have been arranged. At present, about one thousand people have been quarantined at various places.
At the same time, the Navy has also made it clear that their boats are ready to deal with any situation and they can be used at any time when needed. The Navy is also ready to provide necessary help to the local administration.
Chief of Army Staff General MM Naravane told Rajnath Singh that 8,500 army doctors and other support staff are fully prepared to serve people at risk of corona infection. On the issue of dealing with the neighboring countries of Corona, he said that Nepal will soon be helped in this context.
