An individual who was remanded in connection with obstructing duties of two Traffic Police officers in Delkanda, was produced before the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court yesterday. He was produced before court in connection with an incident of assaulting the Chairperson of the Podujana Teacher’s Association Wasantha Handapangoda on May 9. The suspect was produced following a complaint lodged by Wasantha Hadapangoda.
However, the Magistrate ordered to release the suspect on two sureties of Rs.500,000 each.The Magistrate further ordered him to report to the Kollupitiya Police on December 20 and provide a statement regarding the incident.
