Cooking with Poo, Chicken Sexing and Mushrooms - Oh My!

Posted on the 04 April 2012 by Bluestalking @Bluestalking

This is the winning title for the auspicious Diagram Prize for Oddest Title of the Year!

And a fine book it is, I'm sure. Sadly, it doesn't appear to be on sale at Amazon; you'll have to look elsewhere if you enjoy your poo cooked. And who doesn't?  Waste not, want not, as they say.

[You'll probably be relieved to know "poo," in this case, is Thai for "crab."]

[I know I was.]

From article -

"Mr Andoh's Pennine Diary Memoirs of a Japanese Chicken Sexer in 1935 Hebden Bridge by Stephen Curry and Takayoshi Andoh is considered a worthy entry.

The book is the story of Koichi Andoh, who traveled from Japan to Yorkshire in the 1930s to train workers at a hatchery business the art of determining the sex of one-day-old chicks.

A Taxonomy of Office Chairs and The Mushroom in Christian Art are also among the favourites.

Previous winners of this prestigious literary award include: Greek Rural Postmen and Their Cancellation Numbers, How to Avoid Huge Ships and Managing a Dental Practice the Genghis Khan Way.

Crocheting Adventures with Hyperbolic Planes and the Collectible Spoons of the Third Reich have also been awarded."

Couldn't make this stuff up if I tried. Not really sure that's a bad thing.
