A thank you to everyone that attended my event/appearance/book signing/cooking demo on Cooking with Italian Herbs at The Farmhouse at Tamanend Park, sponsored by the Tamanend Park Herb and Garden Club this week. Special Thanks goes to Pat who just turned 102 a few days ago and came with her daughter!

The menu included:
a Tris of Bruschetta: mashed beans with parsley, rosemary, garlic, oil the second one is peppers sauteed with garlic, olive oil and fresh parsley, the third is tomatoes, green peppers and fresh parsley and thyme with olive oil.

Butternut Squash Sage Risotto

Next was Pesto/ beschamel lasagna- made with beschamel sauce and freshly made basil pesto inside.

Crepes filled with Strawberry Balsamic Preserves topped with fresh mint

*Next course was a Butternut Sage Risotto made with fresh sage

*Dessert was crepes filled with Strawberry Balsamic Vinegar Preserves, topped with fresh mint and dusting of powdered sugar

The sale is a fund raiser for the Tamanend Park Herb and Garden Club , and while you are there you can check out the herb garden in Tamanend Park.. ..I got my herb plants early and picked up different varieties of Oregano, Purple Basil, Nasturtium (an edible flower), Lavender from Provence, Parsley and Tarragon and got expert tips on how to take care of them too!
