This was my first trip to Spain and the Museo del Aire. This excellent facility has six exhibition galleries and over 150 aircraft on display. Among the indigenous designs exhibited is this C-207 Azor (Hawk) transport. First flown in 1955, no airliner orders ever materialized but the Spanish Air Force acquired 20 that were operated into the 1980s. Five examples are known to have survived. This museum is located at Cuatro Vientos Airport which was inaugurated in 1911 as Spain’s first military airfield.
