Manufactured in 1950, this CASA 2.111 was a medium bomber derived from the WWII German Heinkel He 111 and produced in Spain under license by Construcciones Aeronáuticas SA (CASA).  This aircraft was used during filming of the movie “Battle of Britain”  Retired in 1975, this was the last CASA 2.111 in active service with the Spanish Air Force.  The 2.111 models differed significantly in details from Heinkel’s wartime He 111H design while using essentially the same exact airframe in appearance, featuring heavier armament and Rolls-Royce Merlin engines.  This aircraft was added to the Cavanaugh Flight Museum collection in 1995.  Nikon D300 w/18-200 mm, processed with Photomatix Pro and Aperture.
