November 2007

The 2007 Aviation Nation airshow was my first and only sighting of this Liberator, one of only two airworthy B-24s in the world. With over 18,000 built, this heavy bomber was produced in more numbers than any other U. S. World War II combat aircraft.  This aircraft spent the war years Stateside, ferrying parts and dignitaries throughout the country.  Acquired by the Commemorative Air Force in 1969, she underwent a major conversion project begun in 2006 to restore her to her original 1941 B-24A bomber configuration.  Nikon D70 w/28-85mm.
