Congressman Weiner’s Twitter Faux Pas

By Datecoachtoni @CoachToni

Here we go again. It’s surprising that the country is not BORED with yet another political sex scandal, however this one has a high tech, social media angle that is rather new and therefore, unique.

In a nutshell, the “good” congressman has said he didn’t do it. His twitter account was hacked. He went on to say that we should not give it too much attention- and that we all have more important things to attend to. Most importantly, he was vague in his response about whether the picture was of him- he said he wasn’t sure. Wasn’t sure??? Most of us know exactly what we look like in our undergarments- and can recognize our brand. It was also interesting that Mr. Weiner (unfortunate name) was not outraged about his privacy/account being hacked- and what was really unlike the behavior of a U.S. Congressman is that he didn’t IMMEDIATELY ask for an investigation to get to the bottom of it. After all, being accused of sending inappropriate pictures to young women online in not something most men would want clouding their good name and reputation.

There is something here that just doesn’t ring true. His facial expressions are believable, but his body language is expressing something else. His posture is closed, dismissive and curt and he is keeping a very low profile. Usually our elected officials are quick to use any excuse to jump in front of the camera and gets lots of attention and exposure- unless of course when they have something to hide and fear that negative press is coming their way.

Congressman, I hope for your sake- and mostly for your wife’s sake- that you are telling the truth. However, your words and behavior don’t match- and something just doesn’t add up. I guess we will all have to stay tuned for the next installment of “The Latest Congressional Scandal.”
