About Stokes:

Stokes is a Stand Up Comedian, Author, and Public Speaker from Sevierville, TN. Alex currently resides in Seymour, TN, with his wife Jenny and their four children.

Alex’s Stand Up Career began at Side Splitters Comedy Club in Knoxville, TN, after a 14 year stint as a Stock Broker. Within his first year, he had won several Stand Up Comedy contests and was awarded his first feature spot opening for a nationally touring comedian. Also, in that first year Alex teamed up with fellow comedians Sandy Goddard and Jay Pinkerton, forming the “M.L.C. Comics”, touring across the country to L.A.’s famous “The Comedy Store.” Since that first year, Alex has performed all over the country in comedy clubs, festivals, charity and corporate events.

Alex is a true life storyteller when he performs onstage. His stories often times make fun of himself, embarking upon a crazy past that includes a short time playing college basketball, dancing in a rave club, his career as an investment broker, and his family. However, most of these stories usually end with an “unforeseen” twist, leaving the audience to laugh hysterically while shaking their heads.

In July of 2013, Alex released his first book, “Messing With Tourists: Stupid Answers To Stupid Questions.” The book is a collection of conversations Alex had with Tourists in one of America’s most popular vacation destinations, Gatlinburg, TN. If asked a “stupid” or “rude” question, Alex would respond in his own quick witted, sarcastic way. The conversations in this book will leave you laughing while shaking your head at humanity.
