Thomas’s Choral Society and are planning a two day ‘Come and Sing’ event next month in support of the Battersea Arts Centre Phoenix Fund after the terrible fire that struck the building in March. They have received a lot of support but are still in need of a significant sum (just under £200,000) to complete the restoration.
The Phoenix Fund was set up in response to the major fire on 13th March which destroyed our beautiful Grand Hall, a space that has been shared and enjoyed by artists, audiences and Battersea’s community for 120 years.
Sam Evans, our charismatic director, has lined up some fantastic soloists and a professional orchestra, a great range of local sponsors but, more importantly, we are opening places to singers of all abilities as well as audience tickets for the final performance.
