Radiant Red,
But what’s the scoop on this vivacious color?
Like the fruit of the same name, the color orange is energizing and tangy! This attention grabbing hue gives of feelings of whimsy and happiness. A little less intense than red, orange often relates to adventure and risk-taking which gives us a real sense of get-up-and-go along with physical confidence. In other words, it makes us feel g-o-o-d!
The Bad:
Just like red, orange triggers our appetite, which would be why this color is so prevalent in restaurant decor! Too much orange can lead to feelings of frivolousness and can be looked upon as loud and childish. Because of it’s playful nature, the presence of orange can keep us off task, or distract us from the task at hand. So it’s probably not the best choice if you’re trying to meet a deadline or you’re having a hard core study session.
The How To:
Since it’s hard to pull off, orange poses a real problem for many when trying to incorporate the hue into a wardrobe. This means that a lot of us just try and stay away! Orange in moderation is a good way to add playfulness and joy to your every day. If you feel that orange just isn’t your color, my suggestion is to slide on a bracelet with orange elements, or a pair of exciting orange heels to ease yourself into the world or orange. This keeps the troublesome hue away from your face, so you can avoid looking washed out while adding a dash of FUN to any look!
