Well it’s Friday night so you know what that means…… cocktails and tonight also sees the return of Gardeners’ World to our screens.
This is my take on a cocktail I had at Loungelover in London, a totally amazing cocktail bar. It’s quite a sweet drink initially but has a sour kick, a great combo!
Utopia
1tsp vanilla sugar
1tsp blackcurrant jam
Juice of half a lime
Juice of one small orange
50ml white rum
Muddle the jam, sugar and lime juice. Add the orange juice, rum and ice. Shake. Strain into a chilled glass.
I did try making it with dark rum but it seemed to drown out the other flavours so I’ll stick to white rum. Have a great weekend and I hope you have gardening weather where you are, the forecast for here is terrible. Undercover sowing seeds for me!
