I haven’t managed to decide on a suitable New Years resolution so my answer is I’ll just carry on with last years as it was such a success. Cheers to another year of cocktails.
Tonight’s cocktail is a Singapore Sling. I’ve made this one before, in fact it was the first cocktail I made last year. I remember thinking how delicious is was, so having 51 more cocktails under my belt I wanted to revisit this one and see whether is was as good as I remember. It did not disappoint one bit and when I do a top 10 it will definitely feature. It does need quite a few ingredients but don’t let that put you off, I assure you you’ll get through them! If you want a drink that is refreshing and exotic this is the one for you.
Singapore Sling
- 30ml Gin
- 15ml Cherry brandy
- 120ml Pineapple juice
- 15ml Lime juice
- 7.5ml Cointreau/Triple sec
- 7.5ml Benedictine
- 10ml Grenadine
- Dash of Angustura bitters
Put all the ingredients in your shaker with plenty of ice and shake. Pour into a tall glass and garnish with a slice of pineapple or a pineapple leaf like I have. Sit back and forget about all the forecasts of snow and instead dream of sandy beaches and warm sunshine!
