No matter how small a business is, there is always
something more to it. In the Philippines, small businesses like sari-sari
stores, carinderia, parlors, and many others are really popular to every local consumer.
Most of the time, the owners of those said small businesses are women’s.
Especially the sari-sari stores which I remember clearly were where I always end
up when I was a kid. To buy my ever
favorite, Coke. After learning about this newest campaign of Coca-cola that empowers every women entrepreneur, I just couldn’t help but agree to share it with you! Watch this inspiring video of Coca-cola – Signs of Happiness.
Coca-cola Company is currently implementing programs
to help women entrepreneurs through their 5by20 campaign. The 5by20 campaign of
Coca-cola aims to empower 5 million women micro-entrepreneurs by the year 2020.
To achieve the 5by20, Coca-cola and Technical Education and Skills Development
Authority (TESDA) came up with the Sari-sari Store Training and Access to
Resources (STAR). Sari-sari Store Training and Access to Resources (STAR) has
been successful for the last two years here in the Philippines.
This program will definitely help many people who are and are not familiar with running a small business. And to achieve the 5by20 goal, we must help each other by simply sharing these words.
