Cobra Whip - ...Must Die

Formed out of the ashes of heavy-hitters Wasted Theory, Cobra Whip moves within the same sphere of diesel 'n' dust infused sleazy heavy rock but they push a little further. There's no world altering stuff at hand on their debut but I love how the band come at me, with no abandon, and simply crush it. Wish more bands perform with the same attitude.

Cobra Whip - ...Must Die

There's no beating around the bush as they throw opener 'Pleasin' Of The Witch' in our faces. Full speed ahead, they don't apologize for anything as they tear it up. 'Outlaw Thunder Cult' slows down the pace a bit but it still have that vicious bite. Comes across like a mix of early The Almighty, The Four Horsemen and Zodiac Mindwarp but with a modern touch to it. The title track, 'Cobra Whip' follows and has a thrash metal backdrop but in the shape of diesel'n'dust badassery. Brilliant stuff! 'Bring Out The Gimp' holds on to that early 90's British sleaze rock feel but mixed with American no-nonsense heavy-ass rock. 'Hot For Preacher' - don't know if the title is a pun at Van Halen - but the song is full throttle, in-yer-face as the band slays it...and I love it! Cobra Whip ends their debut with 'Speedball Billy' and again I hear The Almighty in the music if they had been American. There's such drive and oomph in the music and you simply can't keep yourself restrained...it's time to rock and go fucking crazy.

Hey folks, take the time to check out these hoodlums in Cobra Whip and let them rock your socks and dirty underwear off. Play this at the next office party while doing a keg stand and you have converted all your co-workers. Seriously, these guys play some great bonecrushing and tush-shaking heavy rock and I love it. Takes pressure off and makes you feel good and that's how it should be.
