Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival attendees got to hear world premieres of two new songs by Harry Styles on Friday when he took the main stage for his headlining performance.
The new songs, "Boyfriends" and "Late Night Talking" were performed by Styles wearing a disco ball-inspired jumpsuit.
"To boyfriends everywhere, (bleep) you," Styles said as he announced "Boyfriends."
The anticipation for Harry Styles' headlining performance on Friday, dubbed by many as "Harrychella," could not have been higher for fans around the world and he didn't disappoint.
"Boyfriends," which was the first new song performed, could be described as coming out of Laurel Canyon in the early '70s, with sun soaked melodies and pretty harmonies. It was a very spare arrangement, with just two band members on acoustic guitars and two background singers.
Fans were shocked to hear a new song whether they were watching in person or on the livestream provided by YouTube.
Many fans were mostly just jealous or angry they weren't there to hear it in person.
Fans were mostly too shocked to get a review of the song out onto social media, but there were a few.

Later in the set, after Shania Twain came out for a pair of songs ("Man, I Feel Like a Woman" and "Still the One"), Styles performed the second new song, called "Late Night Talking."
Unlike the mellow melodies of the earlier one, this is a dance floor pop banger. The bass line had a funky beat not unlike David Bowie's "Let's Dance."
