CNY Shopping at FOX Kids & Baby

By A Happy Mum @A_Happy_Mum

Chinese New Year has always been one of my favorite festivals and most eagerly anticipated occasions of the year. While I used to make it a point to get new clothes for myself, I now have another priority on my list and that is to get new clothes for the kids. It's amazing how motherhood changes your focus in life, isn't it? Yes I know that, I gave up a job to be a stay-at-home mum, you see.
Last Saturday, we were thrilled to be invited on a CNY shopping spree at FOX Kids & Baby at City Square Mall and had lots of fun meeting up with fellow bloggers and choosing beautiful outfits for the girls from the latest spring/summer collection 2014.

I personally loved the bright and appealing colours of the new collection and was pleased to see that FOX offered different types of clothings including dresses, cardigans, skirts, pants, shoes, long-sleeved and sleeveless tops.

The dress that she loved most was this one above with the white top and floral bottom, which she likes to call it 'the ballet dress' because she felt like so pretty in it when she tried to do a pirouette. It was quite heartening to see her big smile and how she stayed faithful to this dress throughout the whole session.

Even if sometimes you might not agree on things, at least you know that she is slowly but surely developing her character and learning to distinguish between her likes and her dislikes. As tempting as it is, don't make her dislike something just because you don't like it. As much as we need respect, I think our kids need a little of that too.

With the husband leaving for work halfway, I was initially apprehensive if the baby was going to cooperate with me because guess what, she refused to participate in any photo shoot on the cruise we went during Christmas without me by her side and would bawl the moment I put her down. Separation anxiety to the max.
Thankfully, we survived this photoshoot and although I didn't manage to make her smile, at least she wasn't crying and was looking at the camera long enough to get some beautiful shots of the sisters in their newest outfits.

For the big sister, well, posing seems to be a breeze for her these days and I thought she looked lovely in these solo shots too.

Disclosure: We were invited to an exclusive preview of the new collection at FOX Kids and Baby and the girls received two sets of outfits each for Chinese New Year. No monetary compensation received, yes we bought the shades ourselves, and all opinions are our own.
