By Lwblog @londonwalks

Close of Play: The Nightly Wimbledon BlogFor the duration of the world's greatest tennis tournament – this year from 24th June to the 7th July – CLOSE OF PLAY will bring you a Wimbledon fact of the day. (The London Nightly Photoblog will return on the 8th July…weather permitting!)

Successful Scots at Wimbledon… Jamie Murray – Andy’s brother – won the mixed doubles back in 2007, but before that we have to go back to the Men’s Doubles final of 1929 and both the Men’s and the Mixed Doubles finals of 1931 to find him a compatriot. Ian Collins, born in Glasgow in 1903 was runner-up in all three matches. His greatest singles record was Round 4 in 1931.
