Verdict on Cliffs of Freedom
Cliffs of Freedom is a drama exploring the rebellion against the Ottoman Empire in Greece around 1821. It follows one woman that stands up against the tyrant’s reign and leads the rebellion for their freedom.
While the story behind the conflict is important, the way this version of events happens feels slow. It doesn’t make us feel like we are thrown into the same environment, leaving us feeling more like we are watching a stage play of events. Add in the idea that we are seeing conversations that feel like they have been ripped straight out of Game of Thrones. This movie ends up feeling a lot flatter than it should be.
Final Thoughts – Cliffs of Freedom is a flat movie about an important figure that defined a war.
