Mason jars – they’ve become suddenly super popular and they’re everywhere. Brides are crazy for them! If you love the idea of incorporating mason jars into your wedding, you’re going to adore this idea. It’s a cheap way to provide drinking glasses for your wedding guests, and it’s absolutely adorable.

Chalk Board Paint

Start by finding a template you love to create “labels” on your mason jars. You can find one online or just create your own. You’re going to want the template to be a cutout in a pretty sturdy material, like cardboard, so it will act as a stencil.

Next, you’re going to want to paint the labels for each mason jar. Make sure the area is well covered, so that it works well when it’s time to use the chalk on them. Chalkboard spray paint may be the best way to go, but you’re going to want to make sure the rest of the jar is completely covered so it stays out of the spray.

Chalk Ink or Chalk

Now you can either create a glass for each guest by using chalk ink, or you can provide small dishes of chalk so that each guest can write their own name on their jar. This way, they can always find the jar that belongs to them, and can reuse it throughout the reception.

Favors

The cool thing about this idea is that your chalkboard glasses can be taken home by your wedding guests as wedding favors! This is especially true if you decide to write the names on each jar with the chalkboard ink.

As you can see, this is a really fun and clever way to use mason jars for a rustic or shabby chic wedding.
