By Kravelv

Maybe the concept of cleaning was never that big of a deal to you. But now with the whole Covid-19 situation at hand, it weighs more on your shoulders to help ensure that your house is in tip-top shape, clean, and germ-free. These dyson accessories can help you to clean up your house.

Cleaning, however, does take up quite a lot of time and can tire you out easily. It's a good thing we have a few tips and tricks to help you not only save time but money as well!

Put your sponges in microwaves

Odd but true. The microwave can be used as a tool to disinfect your sponges. By placing them in the microwave for just 90 seconds on full power, the number of bacteria and germs found on the sponge would have been reduced to almost 99% according to studies by Scientific Reports.

Why should you do this? Well, you use your sponge to clean many things around the house - your utensils, tabletops, and dishes. Without disinfecting it, you might be spreading the bacteria all around! So place your damp sponge into the microwave!

Denture tablets into coffee pots

You might be thinking, "Ugh, the coffee pot looks so gross, time to get a new one". However, all your coffee pot needs is a little help from a few denture cleaners.

To do so, you would only need to place a few tablets into the compartment where the water is usually filled into. Fill it up with water and let it go on for a couple of cycles in the machine. In doing so, all the dirt that might have formed on the inside will be cleared out.

Have vinegar on the side

Why? Did you know that vinegar acts as a great cleaning tool around the house?

You might not have denture tablets lying around, so vinegar too makes a great cleaning agent. If you don't clean your coffee pots properly, you might be taking in bacteria while sipping on your morning coffee. As such, it would be beneficial to fill the coffee maker with a mixture of four tablespoons of white vinegar and water. Let it run once, and do it again to remove any leftover vinegar scent.

What else can vinegar help you out with? Removing water stains.

If you are trying to go for that clear glass aesthetic, seeing water stains can be very off-putting. In order to remove them, layer the stain with a mixture of half and half vinegar and water for around fifteen minutes. In doing so, the vinegar is breaking down the debris. Afterwhich, get yourself a toothbrush to give it a good scrub before rinsing it with water.

Another vinegar hack would be to disinfect your keyboards.

Every day, your fingers are touching the keyboards of your computer. God knows what else you have been touching prior to the usage of the keyboard. Especially in times like these, it is especially important to disinfect your keyboards. To do so, all you need to do is to dip a toothbrush into a half vinegar half water solution and give your keyboard a good scrub. Remember to go in between the keys as well to remove all forms of bacteria.

Steam your microwaves

Is there grease in your microwave? To remove it, you just need to give your microwave a little steam treatment. Instead of having to work so hard with all the scrubbing, take a bowl of hot water and place it within your microwave. Let it run for five minutes. This act of steaming the microwave helps to loosen the grease within the microwave, making it so much easier to clean off with a cloth.

Baking soda to remove scratch marks on your plates

Could you have accidentally cut a piece of meat too hard that it left a scratch mark on your plates? In order to remove that unsightly mark, all you need to do is to buff it off with a paste made out of baking soda and water. Ta-da!

Baking soda to clean your fruit blenders

Baking soda is not only good for removing scratches, but it can also help you to clean your blenders up. This hack is very beneficial as it saves you the trouble of having to dip your hand into a bowl filled with tiny knives.

Fill the blender with some warm water, baking soda, and wash detergent before blending it for a good few seconds. Rinse it a couple of times to make sure that there is no leftover baking soda or detergent mix in it.

Use lemons to freshen up your garbage disposal

The stench that comes from the garbage disposal can be quite unpleasant. To help make it a more breathable area, cut some lemons up and drop them into the drain. This will release a more pleasant scent when your disposal is switched on.

Use vodka to remove mold

Not only is vodka a great drink when it comes to making martinis, but it is also good for getting rid of the mildew problem in your bathroom. Have yourself a spray bottle filled with a half and half of vodka and water mixture. Then spray the areas that you would like to clean and let them rest for about ten to fifteen minutes. Afterwhich, get yourself a clean cloth to wipe the mess away. The vodka mixture not only helps to ensure that your surfaces are clean, but it also kills the mold that is growing as well!

Toothpaste as a silver cleaner substitute

Need something to help get your utensils and serving pieces sparkling again? If you do not have silver cleaner nearby, fret not! Toothpaste will do just the thing. Scrub the surface with either a rag or a soft toothbrush to help your pieces gleam again.
