Clamshell Motorola RAZR 2019 Will Delay Due to High Demand

Posted on the 21 December 2019 by Harsh Sharma @harshsharma9619

So far, no smartphone with a flexible screen has been able to enter the market on time: both the Samsung Galaxy Fold and the Huawei Mate X decently lingered (about half a year) relative to the initial plans. And now it became known that the reborn Motorola RAZR 2019 clamshell, which was introduced a month ago, suffered the same fate.

The only difference is that in the case of Motorola RAZR 2019 the reason for postponing the start of sales is different – there were too many people who wished to buy a new product, despite the rather big price of $ 1,500. That is, the demand exceeded all the expectations of the manufacturer, which now needs a little extra time to produce more devices.

Below is the full text of Motorola’s statement regarding the transfer of sales of RAZR 2019 in Russian translation:

After the announcement in November around the new Motorola RAZR, unprecedented excitement and interest from consumers arose. Demand turned out to be very large and quickly exceeded projected supply volumes.

Motorola decided to adjust the pre-sale and launch dates of the RAZR to meet consumer demand. We are working to determine the appropriate quantity and new dates so that more consumers can get RAZR at the start of sales.

We do not expect a significant shift relative to the initial dates for the start of the sale. ”

So the good news is that the RAZR 2019 will not be delayed as much as the Galaxy Fold and Mate X. At least that’s how it seems now. The bad news is that Motorola has not yet given specific dates.

The postponement of sales start dates is officially confirmed only for the USA, where the new product will be exclusive of the Verizon mobile operator. There, pre-orders for the RAZR 2019 were supposed to start on December 26, and actual sales began two weeks later – on January 9. However, with a high degree of probability, the RAZR 2019 will also be delayed in Europe
