Civil Rights activist and comedian, Dick Gregory died Saturday in Washington. He was 84.
Dick Gregory’s son, Christian Gregory, who announced his death on social media, said more details would be released in the coming days. Dick Gregory had been admitted to a hospital on Aug. 12, his son said in an earlier Facebook post.
“The family appreciates the outpouring of support and love, and respectfully asks for their privacy as they grieve during this very difficult time,” Christian Gregory said. “More details will be released over the next few days.”
Rev. Jesse Jackson took to twitter to pay his respects to Gregory, tweeting that Gregory taught us how to fight, how to laugh, and how to live.
