City Fabulous

City Fabulous

As a suburban mommy, I am constantly fighting an inner battle of chic vs functional. A few years ago I made the monumental decision to migrate back to the suburbs. With that move came the fashionable staples Juicy sweats, worn-in sweaters, and yoga pants. With careful consideration, I neatly packed away my highest heels and ultimately, Tory Burch flats became my errand essentials. It felt as if once I left the cool of Atlanta city limits so did my sense of fabulousness.

Over the years, my shopping habits have evolved, reflecting my new sense of reality. I practically live in skinny jeans–or even better–jeggings (thank you, fashion Gods!). I search for tops that are multifunctional and classic. Items that are great dressed down with flats and toddler in tow or instantly fab with a pair of heels.

Every now and again, I come across an essential wardrobe staple like this asymmetrical draped top. It instantly adds an it factor to a basic look or can be worn tucked in with a skirt (for a night out) or with slacks (for the office). It’s a great take on the classic white blouse in a modern and sexy way.
