Citra Save File Location – Default Paths
All the save files (save data, extra data, and a host of other files necessary for Citra to run properly) are in the user’s directory
Windows
Windows Save File Location: C:/Users/[your-user-name]/AppData/Roaming/Citra/
AppData is hidden by default, to unhide the folder:
- Start Button > Control Panel
- Open Folder Options
- On the View tab under Hidden files and folders, select Show hidden files and folders
If you don’t know how to find a folder with the path, do the following:
- Press Windows + R
- Copy “C:/Users/[your-user-name]/AppData/Roaming/Citra/”
- Paste it in the run window
- Press OK
Mac & Linux
Mac & Linux Save File Location: ~/.local/share/citra-emu/
.local folder is hidden by default, so unhide folders
If you don’t know how to find a folder with the path, do the following:
- Open the finder window
- Press Command + Shift + G
- Copy “~/.local/share/citra-emu/”
- Paste it in the text field
- Finally press OK
If Citra is instaled ia Flatpak, the Citra folder will be:
~/.var/app/org.citra_emu.citra/data/citra-emu
Citra Save File Location – Find Paths
This is an alternative method for Windows, Mac & Linux. In case you changed the location of the save files, or if you can’t find it, you can also search for them from Citra:
- Launch Citra
- Find the game of your choice
- Right click on the game
- Select Open Save Data Location
