Since Citadel already announced a second installment in early 2023, it should have commenced its filming. Nevertheless, as of April 2024, Amazon has still not announced Citadel Season 2 release dates.
While nothing has been announced, the delays were likely due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, which disrupted a plethora of web series across several OTT platforms.

A Priyanka Chopra Jonas starrer, Citadel, did not mark the success expectations. The American spy action thriller, which had an extensive budget of $250 million, fell short of garnering a considerable amount of views, eventually becoming one of the biggest flops on the streaming giant, Amazon Prime Video. Not only this but Citadel scored poorly on two of the biggest review aggregator websites, IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes, 6.2/10 and 51%, respectively.
