A few nights ago I was invited to Chuck’s Deli bloggers food tasting event. Chuck’s Deli has been around since 2010 and they already have two branches — in Eastwood and in Serendra, where the event was held. It is the home of the slabwich and you really have to have a big appetite to finish their humongous servings!

Chuck's Deli: Home of the Slabwich

Crystal Yaptinchay, marketing manager of Chuck’s Deli is highlighting their new Lunch Bag Menu. Basically you can choose your own quarter slab, side order and drink.

While waiting for our orders, these sinful french fries were served in our table. I especially liked the smiley fries because of its crispiness and crunchiness, and err okay, cos they’re cute! These fries are best eaten with their spicy garlic sauce.

Also for our appetizer were these Buffy Balls (Php 245.00) — crunchy buffalo chicken balls. If you don’t like bones in your buffalo chicken, then this one’s for you! It’s new in their menu so you may want to try it out on your next visit.

Then finally my Lunch Bag #2 (Php 249.00) was served. Notice how I still tried to eat healthy by including Waki Salad in my meal. Also, Crystal told us their milkshakes are a-must-try so I got the Banana Peanut Butter Milkshake (Php 195.00) instead of the raspberry tea slush that was originally included in this set. The milkshake tasted so heavenly, probably because 3 scoops of Arce Dairy icecream blended with fresh carabao’s milk were used. Yummy!

For my slabwich I chose The Buffy — buffalo chicken with garlic sauce. I was really having a hard time choosing my slabwich because all 11 choices — The Vegetarian, Faking Duck, French Kiss, Off the Hook, Jessica’s Meltdown, California Waki, Adobo Dobol, Hamsome Threesome, Hey Sexy, The Buffy, and The Pilgrim — sounded so appetizing to me! Also, two thumbs up for their witty names! ;)

You guys may want to check out the two food challenges at Chuck’s Deli. The first one is Chuck’s Challenge where you have to chew down the Buffy Slabwich in 5 minutes or less.

image

We witnessed a group of four men who tried this challenge… but unfortunately none of them emerged victorious. I guess you really have to come super duper hungry for this!

And the second one is the MotherChucker Challenge. You have to finish the whole Mother Chucker in 2:30 minutes or less!

image

This may appear small at first glance but you’ll be surprised to know what’s in between those two slices of bread — Cucumber, tomato, onion rings, arugula, emmental cheese, bacon, chicken spread, runny fried egg, smoked ham and mustard mayo. Whew!!! Now, can you finish this whole thing up in less than 2:30 minutes? I’ll be the first one to bail out of the challenge, lols!

If you’re up for the challenge, go and visit Chuck’s Deli! Who knows you might win and get bragging rights by having your name written on their wall of fame!

You can find Chuck’s Deli at G/F Serendra, Bonifacio Global City and G/F Eastwood Mall, Libis, QC. Like them on Facebook and follow them on Twitter for more updates.

Special thanks to Chuck’s Deli for having us, and Aldous and Wazzup Pilipinas for the invitation.
