That's the way the cookie crumbles
Another train journey and another sugary Christmas drink. This time I picked a regular Cookie Crumble Latte from Pumpkin cafe. Also on offer are a Salted Caramel Latte and a Winter Spiced Tea.
Pumpkin Cafe is on platform 4 (the one for Glasgow trains) at Haymarket Station in Edinburgh. As well as coffee you can buy umbrellas, painkillers and bananas. What an Aladdin's cave!
I ordered a Cookie Crumble Latte as I had been judging pies earlier and needed something sweet to give me a boost.
The drink did look good for about 2 seconds until the top-heavy crumbled cookie submerged under the whipped cream. It was freezing on the platform but the Latte was toasty and was keeping me warm. That was the only bonus. Otherwise, the coffee was weak, the taste extremely sweet and sugary (even too much for me when I was looking for a sugar boost!) and to top it off the cookies which had earlier disappeared ended up here ⬇️I felt a bit queasy for the rest of the day, so I don't think I'll be rushing back for another one 🙁
