Here’s
Katy on Piccadilly shopping at Christmas…
There
is nowhere as stylish as Piccadilly at Christmas.
It
is like stepping into a Victorian Christmas card.
Crowned
trees, old-style baubles, the best window displays and fairy-lit arcades!
The shops here are ever-so traditional and very, very special.
Floris is
one of the oldest shops in London dating to 1730. It has a tiny museum
dedicated to the history of perfume, with cabinets from 1851. Here you can buy scents
worn by everyone from Oscar Wilde to Diana Princess of Wales. Nelson bought
White Rose for Emma and even James Bond is said to wear Floris number 89.
Charbonnel
et Walker is another treat in Piccadilly. They are official chocolatier to HMQ!
They were started by Madame Charbonnel and Mrs. Walker, helped along by King
Edward VII. They make chocolate by hand with flower oil.
Their signature
is The PINK CHAMPAGNE TRUFFLE which can only be described as a rich, silky
expression of the exquisite.
We
visit both these shops on the Village in Piccadilly walk. We get you a special
deal in both.
I
have one thing to say: The Queen's Chocolates or an I Love London mug? No
competition!
